Development of a Tape Winding Mechanism for HTS Power Cables
نویسندگان
چکیده
Manufacturing of HTS power cables requires winding the tapes helically around a former. These are costly, and delicate require sophisticated machinery which is expensive. In this paper, an in-house economic mechanism for converting conventional lathe machine to Tape Winding Mechanism (TWM) discussed in detail. addition developed prototype, technical issues challenges encountered during development TWM listed. The was instrumental successfully 10 simultaneously tin-coated braided copper former 19 mm diameter with pitch length 210 continuous 5 m cable. recommendation modifying any existing cable also discussed.

متن کاملA new method of fabricating HTS tape coil
High-Temperature Superconducting (HTS) materials can introduce substantial improvement in signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of images for small-size sample or low-field MRI system (<1T) [1]. Expensive HTS thin film is typically used for making receiver surface coils for substantial SNR improvements [2]. A 5-inch HTS tape coil using silver-alloy sheathed Bi-2223 tape was first developed [3], which all...
متن کاملIndustrial Cu-Ni alloys for HTS coated conductor tape
Copper rich Cu-Ni alloys have been textured with the RABiTS method in order to get non-magnetic and cost efficient substrates for coated conductor wires. The study is focused on two industrial compositions: Cu55Ni45 (Constantan) and Cu70Ni30. Studies on surface roughness have been done. The effects of annealing conditions (temperature and atmosphere) on the grain boundaries deepness were analyz...
